Research and Development

Purestream is a forward thinking company that is focused on creating solutions for environmental challenges in every area of the oil and gas landscape.

In addition to the suite of water cleaning and evaporative solutions we have developed, Purestream Technology continues to work along side Energy Dynamics Lab and Space Dynamics Lab, as well as Thermal Management Technologies, to develop new technologies directed at solving adjacent challenges associated with oil and gas drilling activities.
Purestream continues to provide supplemental research and development funding for these endeavors because these technologies are applicable and critical on the list of future challenges facing the oil and gas industry. Purestream remains on the forefront of these challenges and will continue our research and development efforts.
Brine Solutions Production companies in the Marcellus region face serious challenges as they look for economical and environmental solutions to dispose of concentrated brine solutions and high TDS produced water. Purestream is aggressively pursuing R&D options for the beneficial reuse of concentrated brine streams, ranging from conversion to Portland cement to Salt Gradient Solar Ponds.
LIDAR LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) is an optical remote sensing technology that measures properties of scattered light to find range and/or other information of a distant target or subject. Like the similar radar technology, which uses radio waves, the range to an object is determined by measuring the time delay between transmission of a pulse and detection of the reflected signal. Differential Absorption LIDAR (DiAL), that is based on LIDAR principles and can be utilized in oil and gas fields for wide area scanning, monitoring and evaluation of emission gas arrays (CH4, CO2, SO2, NOx, VOCs). This technology is being developed by Utah State University's Energy Dynamics Laboratory.
